If there are grounds for diminish responsibility then its classed as manslaughter, at least here it is anyway. Maybe he knew full well what he was doing and wanted to kill people, we can only speculate

In the United States drug use is not grounds for diminished capacity or anything else, this has been ruled on by the Supreme Court. * +

Btw, just to put the record straight. Most drivers who drink, drink drive. Anyone who's driven on a hangover is a drink-driver. It's fkn stupid and kills people. Everyday.

And anyone caught drink-driving needs to be taken off the road. And is.

But that's not what this incident was about. As I could see from the start.

It's interesting how people can be led by the press.

Guy who ran people down on London bridge was a Muslim, so the press all shout Muslim! And not a word about any previous motoring convictions.

This guy was an American, so they all report how he's been done for drink-driving in the past and everyone focuses on that. Because people think what the press tell them to think - everyone's favourite hates, chosen carefully.

I wasn't led by anything, I've only read or heard about it in this post, my opinions are based on the information here, as we are discussing it. My opinion on drink driving stands whether this man was pissed or not. The guy on London bridge used his Muslim religion as a motive so that's probably why people shouted Muslim. I also don't hate Muslims * +
