I was in court quite recently. As a defendant.

I'd been in a car accident, and it was agreed/found that the cause of the accident wasn't my fault, and even accepted that i couldn't possibly have avoided it.

I didn't get off entirely - got a slap on the wrist for a couple of wrong-doings. * +
