Hi guys i am going to write a fresh and easy way to root your HTC Desire, i will hopefully do samsungs and x10's etc at a later stage but for now its the desire. first of all why should you root? well because you get access to brilliant customized roms that are out there from stock android to sense ui, from battery daving roms to fast roms to stability and roms that get rid fo gloatware etc. there are so many out there but the best so far is leedroid rom. * +

Another great reason to root is it gives you acess to other stuff in your phone like, set cpu app which lets you mess around with the processor speed. i have changed my processor speed to use 225mhz when in standby as i wont be using the phone and it saves battery, but you can customize to how you want, another great app is user permissions, great thing about this app is it is like a firewall and with the virus rumours around, this will save you.there are many other great apps and uses for rooti * +

.. rooting . one major one which people will benefit from is, if your desire is branded you can root your phone and install a custom rom of your choice thus getting rid of branded firmware from your network, this will also save you from creating a goldcard which can be a pain lol. * +

make sure your htc desire is set to usb debugging. p.s. this rooting method also works on hero, incredible,aria and evo. * +

with windows you need to have hboot drivers if you use linux or mac you dont. * +
