depends what you want to do with it, if you want a phone thats truely your own, then go for the android, if you want a locked down phone that is restricted in what you can do, then get the iphone, both have their pros and cons for getting them, the choice is up to you, at end of the day depends on how you want to use the phone.... * +

The iphone is restricted to what you can download but according to what mobile there are more apps for the iphone than any other platform. But the difference with android is that most of the apps are free. And I Think eventually android apps will overtake all the other platforms due to its popularity. * +

i0s Is limited to just the iphone where as android is appearing on many different brands of smartphone. Symbian s60 often seen on nokia smartphones is now outdated and windows mobile is even worse, which makes android the best platform and to be honest its not very far behind the apple system in terms of useability. * +

Nokia do have a new variant of symbian which is seen on the new N8 but it will sometime b4 apps start appearing for this version. The iphone can be unlocked to allow downloads from 3rd party sites but its not approved by apple who are the only people who can your iphone should a fault develope * +

I would avoid anything Symbian from now on, even Symbian3 seems to be behind everything else, and only helped by the Camera and low price of phones running it. Otherwise i agree with what both bla and askaspel said * +
