As a Galaxy Tab10.1 user id say yes, kinda wish i had gone with the Xoom as it has already received Android4.0 ICS and has HDMI, so id say go for it, its worth buying especialy now that many apps are ICS optimized. * +

It should be fine with Joikuspot via wifi, USB Modem wont work as Xoom like other tablets doesnt have a full pc usb port. * +

The USB port is like the one on phones, im not sure if Xoom supports USB-OTG so i dnt knw if it wil take an external hdd. *
