I have had this phone just over a week now. As you probably know, buying a new android is not an easy thing to do, unless you don't care what you buy. I upgraded from the original wildfire, while technically cr*p, has just about seen me through the last year. I didn't want a top range android, and nether a bottom range one, so settled for mid range. Looking at other phones around this price range this clearly is one of the better mid range androids. I did consider the s2 and it wouldn't of * +

cost much more but..... its just a little bit too big for me. The phone is around 300 pound depending on where you go, carfone warehouse are selling them sim free for 329.99 but they don't have them in stock yet, i got mine from the 3 shop, obviously locked for 269.99 and 3 said they can unlock it for 15 pound. Ok just a few of basic spec- 4 inch super amoled screen (gorilla glass) 1ghz duel core processor, Mali 400 gpu, 8 gig internal storage but expandable though sd card, 5mp cam and 1.3mp * +

front cam, 2 gig Rom and a Novathor chipset which allows the S Advance to blow away the S2 in browser benchmarks. The first thing i noticed was just how light the phone is, its not the smallest phone out there, neither is it the biggest and i personally think its the perfect size for a smart phone, 4 inch screen is big enough for me and the phone slips into the pocket very nicely. The second thing i noticed was just how flimsy the back cover is, it is so thin and i was worried about * +

snapping it while taking it off to put battery and sim card in, luckily its not something i will be taking off often. I found the phone booted up rather quick and one of the first things i did after booting up was go and look for some decent games to see how it would perform. The first game i downloaded was Shadowgun, wow, just wow, i couldn't believe this was on a mobile phone, it really was a 'stand out' moment for me. The game looks stunning and runs flawlessly (remember this is only a mid * +

range android phone, i also downloaded riptide, shine runner, deep space, sonic cd, sonic 4 and a few others, all looked fantastic and ran beautifully, basically for gaming this is a very capable phone. On the internet using the stock browser everything is fast, smooth and the browser does have a flash player. * +

I will now mention a few negative points. The phone is quite slippy and if you are not careful it can easily be dropped, which i have done and unfortunately chipped a little bit of the silver bezel that goes around the phone. I was not able to buy a case at the time as nowhere sold them , only place at moment is online. * +

While the phone looks ok, the build quality is not a patch on my htc, if you do buy this phone then make sure you are able to get a case as one drop is all it takes to chip the paint. Just like most android phones the battery isn't fantastic, its 1500ma. You will get through the day with light, moderate use but if you are constantly on net, playing games etc then expect to charge it a couple of times. * +

Obviously its a new phone for me so i am hammering it at the moment, today i placed games constantly and the battery lasted roughly 4 hours from fully charged. Another thing i found and have found on all Samsung phones i have had, is the call quality is a bit iffy, a little muf*led, not as clear as my wildfire. * +
