Hi all. I'm getting a new phone before Christmas and have been weighing up many options this past week. I've been a Symbian lad for the last five or so years so wanted to continue the trend. I realised the Nokia N8 wasn't what I was looking for so I thought maybe a change was in order.. * +

The Nokia N900 was then recommended and I had long been a fan so my mind was set on this but now something is telling me to try Android. I want a phone for it's applications as a priority but I want useful and entertaining ones along with quality games and maybe emulators. A quick processor is a must as well as a strong multimedia suite. I don't really want to break the bank but I want an up to date o.s. Suggestions and questions are welcome. * +

I don't really want to be spending that much mate, the camera is not that important to me though, I hardly use them. * +

Samsung Galaxy-S, Motorola Milestone2, and even the SE X10 bare in mind thou that it runs 2.1 but a 2.2 ROM is in the works at XDA Developers. The Samsung Galaxy-S will probably suit you best though, it is carrying the most powerful CPU/GPU at the moment. * +

I agree the galaxy S is the best and it its amoled display is a better amoled than the Nokia. The htc desire hd uses super lcd because of the apparent shortage of amoled. The colours on super Lcd are not as vibrant. Not to say the htc isnt capable of great multimedia but its more of a business device than the samsung. * +

You say the htc desire hd is 2 expensive but the samsung galaxy S Isnt much cheaper and if you want something on the same level as the N8 Then these 2 are currently the only ones that match it and even acceed its capabilities in some areas. * +
