I'm on Orange in the UK and over the last few days I've noticed my download speed had increased - large apps from the Market were downloading in seconds, and I'm like so I just checked using the GPRS Speed Test app and my upload speed has increased by 300 PERCENT, from around 1.86Mbs to 5.12Mbs, upload and ping increasing commensurately (ahem, Garion's been eating dictionaries again) * +

pathetic, must be a bad day. my download was 189kbs on 3 network on the site i tried. bb was 1.8mbs * +

Cheers crail it's weird. everything's happening like lightning, I mean 3 TIMES normal speed is a LOT. Orange/T-Mobile said they were introducing 4G coverage from September, but you'd need a 4G handset wouldn't you? I mean, yes you would, but I've had the same download speed for YEARS, and to suddenly massively increase like this is... strange.. * +

I hadn't actually used the Speed Test app for yonks, 'cos it was ALWAYS 1.86 or 1.88 so I deleted all the tests I'd done apart from two representative samples as you can see in the pic, but I remembered the dial, and the needle used to creep a quarter of the way up. but as pmmmtap I hit 'begin test' it shot up over halfway. * +

'pmmmtap' is supposed to say 'soon as' but for some reason I can't edit the post and the first post in the topic should say DOWNLOAD speed btw - garion's fingers are trying to move as fast as his internet connection.. * +

5.12mbs is like the average speed of an 8mb bb connection. cant be bad. * +
