I've tried two jb and two ics ones so far and none have lasted on my fone longer than a few hours. so far they've all had different names for the the external SD other than mnt/sdcard/external_sd.. this means the gallery doesn't find photos, the music player doesn't find music etc. I just wanna know if this is frequently the case with you guys. and also has any1 ever used directory bind to change the name back ? or do you give up, live with it ? * +

the instructions just made my head spin when I had a read. I can't believe roms are so popular if this is an issue everyone faces.. if you've found a guide to sorting this prob thats in plain English, could you point me towards it please * +

Have no idea, been trying to get a grasp of romming over at xda and they talk in a different language, think they have specific Roms for each phone. Not sure if I'll ever try one most seem to have a lot of bugs. * +

there's a few bugs I'll live with. most cm10 roms don't have a radio for example but you can get one called spirit radio which I have. its just the idea of not having those useless apps that run in the background, much greater power efficiency, modded notification bars and faster operation really appeals to me. its actually quite easy to do, but also a hassle to put up with after if the basics are bug*ered up.. * +

cm10 isn't really 100 percent finished yet, they're still adding to it on nightly updates, well for the s3 anyway. * +

Thats odd 3mel, with every ROM ive tried, i havent had any such issues, they always find my external sd. I dont like custom ROMs though, i try them now and then, yesterday i tried Slim Bean, didnt have any issues with external sd. Did you recently make sum changes to your SD e.g. do the whole Link2SD mod? * +

Maybe you played around with directory bind and binded the wrong way? * +
