read its a Droid as well, best check the specs inline before investing money into it, also check xda to see if someone is working on it * +

it is an android device without the Google apps instead you get amazon apps * +

well chuffed with myself today. I dug myself a hole and promised to root my dads Kindle and get rid of the awful Amazon launcher and get playstore on it.. it's the hardest device to root out there but managed it.. if anyone is interested I'll post the links that worked and didn't require too much effort.. * +
