Anyone got any reccomendations for useful/fun apps I should download? Do ya need anti-virus on an Android tablet? * +

You only need an Anti-Virus if ya install apps not from the PlayStore and i'd suggest ShiftKey Keyboard and Nova Launcher along with ya standard Google Earth SkyMaps some basic Camera apps and photo editing apps, drawsomething is quite fun but novelty don't last that long, get quickpic to replace gallery and vlc player is good video and music app.. Most gameloft games are ace and ea games n most are on sale atm i got arkham city for 69p 
and Spiderman Plus loads more

I'd also look at Custom Roms on xda-developers forums u will get the most out of the tablet performence wise :) * +

Thought the Play Store wasn't as closely vetted as iTunes, so there's still a risk? Only gonna download from there and the Kindle Store or any other 'legit' sources. Deffo aint touching custom roms though, I'd muck it up lmao standard Jellybean will do me fine, it is my first 'droid device so I'll be happy with it. Almost home :) * +

I wouldn't mess with custom ROMs. I have a Nexus 7 and custom ROMs don't really add much to it. Stock JB is absolutely fine and rock stable on Nexus 7. * +
