Just picked up an HTC Desire s for a bargain price, as it has a slight problem. The screen brightness won't adjust. It seems to be set at about 50 per cent. Fine in low light, but a bit faint in bright light. Setting it on auto adjust makes no diff, nor does the manal setting alter the brightness. Anyone else had this? I can pick up a new screen and digitizer cheaply, is this likely to solve it? * +

it's been suggested it has 'weak backlight', is this likely? Surely if it were this, wouldn't there still be some adjustment in the brightness? * +

try to use white wallpapers when in darkness * +

just googled it, seems to occur after the screen has been replaced, try gsm arena for a fix. * +
