I inserted my old 2GB Samsung memory card into this new phone and the photos are not shown in gallery. Their names can be seen in file manager but they do not open! It says invalid file. They all in .jpg format. What could be the problem? I'm new to android. This is my first android device. Polo or other experts, pls help? * +

what was your old Samsung? not an Android by the sound of it.. I think that's the problem. goto settings/storage and see if the option to mount or unmount your external SD card is greyed out or not. Android uses a Linux memory card file system that's not compatible with most other fones. you'll probably need to copy the photos somewhere and format the card and send them back to your ace.. * +

also FAT32 (it isnt exclusive to just Linux, matter of fact it was first used on Windows) should be what your SD card is formatted in. As mel said, its quite rare in other phones. Symbian also can use it though * +

if I put my Symbian memory card into a reader via USB otg, my galaxy can't see it and vice versa. * +

I don't know whether androids use fat32 or not, but they use ext4 file system which other devices don't. * +
