I'll have to have a look at some of the alternatives, but to be honest I hardly need to use it - back in the Symbian days it was REALLY IMPORTANT what file explorer you had, as otherwise you literally wouldn't be able to do some stuff (copying image files, unzipping etc), these days most Android apps do everything out of the box anyway. * +

One thing I do use a File Manager for is Opera (you know what Garion's like with Opera) if you go into 'android/data/.com. opera browser' then 'cache' and delete all the g_x x xx files (leaving the first and last three) the boot up time seems faster. They're only empty temporary cache folders (if you clean your cache regularly) so I can't see any SCIENTIFIC basis for them slowing the browser, but give it a try provided you know what you're doing (and if you've read this far you would) * +

And if you see the nearby PlayStore topic, that's an illustration of what I mean - I took a screenshot by swiping my hand across the screen (you'd need a separate app for that on Symbian) then in QuickPic just pressed 'send to' and 'imgur for Android' and the notification bar flickered with 'copy url'; done. Dread to think of that procedure on my N70.. *
