unless of course, if I insert a sim from another network when its unlocked maybe the gsm option will suddenly appear? possible I guess. I knew I shouldnt have got this phone on the three network lol my mistake * +

I'm a little disappointed with 4g atm, I suppose it's coverage is still not as strong yet, I usually only get 2 to 3 bars on the signal strength, while downloading email attachments seem a bit faster and speed tests confirm its about 5 to 6 times faster but that's not the case while watching streaming videos, constant buffering, but if I disable 4g I will get full signal strength on 3G and videos will load a lot quicker * +

Plus the combination of weaker signal and 4g equals to battery draining a lot quicker, compared to disable 4g with a full signal strength on 3G * +

there has allways been a lot of battery drain on 3g let alone 4g. now you see why I place considerable importance on the gsm option cos if your only calling and texting you dont need high speed data * +

JUST AS A POINTER: anyone checking for updates on their note 3 will need to download samsung kies version 3 because the standard version doesnt support the device as I found. when I launched kies with the phone connected it told me to download another version. so far version 3 is ONLY for the note 3, but I suspect others will follow in the future like the S5. I had no updates in the uk but then thats hardly surprising considering it was on 4.3 out of the box. (although there could have been minor updates which is why I decided to check) *
