Nexus 5 is decently specced, but in 2-3months time it will be outdated by the new breed of 14nm ARM A57 64bit 3-4GB RAM based Androids with 2K displays, and 16MP OIS Cameras, I know the GS5 will have those specs and I'm pretty sure LG G3, Xperia Z2, Htc One successor etc... will have similar. I think the only reason to buy the Nexus 5 now is if you HAVE TO HAVE a Nexus, otherwise rather wait, or you'll regret not being patient.

Or because it's a lot cheaper than the others you mentioned, so it should get points for price * +

Revised Nexus 5 is now shipping, replacing the poorly built original. Amongst the fixes are better speaker grill, tighter buttons and no more protruding sim tray: http://is.gd/M4gqCS .LG really needs to get its quality control up to scratch, the Nexus 4 also had multiple revisions due to cr*p build (dislike) * +

If was going to actually buy a phone rather than get one on contract I would get a nexus 5 *
