okies, i upgraded to touch screen from a nokia 300, any laymans terms hints and tips leaving out the confusing tech stuff, how these things work, will be really useful. just keep in mind that when androids 1st came out, i thought you had to plug them into some device like a erm,,,,robot,,,,to get them to work. and i thought app was short for apple. oh and i was trying to find the button to take pics with. dont ask (facepalm) but yeh, a easy to understand what is what on android will be really welcomed. * +

if you have been used to another phone for a long time trying a new one is like wearing a new pair of shoes. It may seem a little daunting at first but you will pick it up with time, and not very much time either because its more user friendly now which is the case with most modern smartphones. The more you use it the more things will gradually fall into place * +

android was an operating system deleloped by google and its had time to mature, and is now the worlds most popular mobile operating system. That said most manufacturers like to put their own software over the top of android, meaning that a phone from htc maybe slightly different in use to a samsung but its not necessarily a major difference, and therefore nothing to worry over. Its just to let you know what brand of phone you are using, after all if they were all the same they maybe no reason to pick one brand over the other * +

android is a bit like the windows of the computer world, as apple and their iphone operating system is like the mac of the mobile world. What this means is that you are wise to install and anti virus on any android phone, and while the apple app store maybe more secure than its google counterpart with android you are rewarded with a more open experiance than you would get on any iphone, meaning you can customise your device as you see fit, so its more flexible than its main rival * +

you will also be rewared with far greater number of free apps than you would get on the iphone system which is called i0s. I believe the iphone is overrated in many respects, and some things you expect to be standard features are not on the apple device. For example you cant send photos or other files to your friends via bluetooth, because bluetooth on the apple is only designed for headset use. So contrary to popular thought the iphone does not do everything * +

another thing to bear in mind is iphones dont have memory card slots where most androids do, so if your iphone fills up your largely stuffed untill you back your content up. While there are methods to overcome some of the iphones shortcomings that would involve geeky stuff like modifying your device which may invalidate your guarantee or else mess your phone up entirely. The same can be done with android phones but that is an avenue thas not everyones cup of tea * +

and to be honest there is less of a reason to do it on android than on an iphone. Anti virus progames or apps are free to download on the android store which is now called the google play store and they update themselves automatically once you go online for whatever reason. In order to download any apps, free or paid for, you will need to register for a free google account, its a straightforward process which can either be done on the phone itself or a computer if you find that easier. The registation will ask you if you want to link a bank card to your new account which is entirely your choi * +

which is your choice. If you want an open mobile platform and a wide choice of phones android is for you. But if the apple logo is a priority over what the phone can actually do, then your on the wrong forum in my opinion. * +
