There are rumours flying around online that the galaxy note 8 will not get the 4.4 update because its been claimed that Samsung has decided to abandon the device, all despite the fact it was only launched last year! iam guessing iam hoping its not true, because if it is I may consider the unofficial route. if this is true its bad for a high end product thats not even a year old yet. the fact that new note tablets have been released since should make no difference, a lot of people paid a lot of dosh for these, especially the 4g/LTE version. * +

and meanwhile cheaper and far less powerful tablets like the tab 3.7inch will see the update, infact there are even rumours some tab 2 tablets will get 4.4, along with the galaxy s3 smartphone and the much older galaxy s2. so whats wrong with the note 8 lol? confused.com * +

I know one thing, if this is true, it will be the last samsung high end tablet I buy thats for sure! they can kiss their new models bye bye if there is no turnaround decision made. * +

They are just that, 'Rumors'. There was once a rumor that Android was going to fork into a high end and a low end version, there was also a rumor that Google would shut out all other OEMs after the purchase of Moto went through. Like those rumors, the Note 8 not getting 4.4 is illogical and makes no sense, sounds more like someone running a smear campaign, the Note8.0 is the iPad Mini's biggest competitor, best believe it WILL get 4.4. I know XDA Developers has some idiots who will create these stupid rumors, many of them started a rumor that the GS2 wouldn't get JB back in late 2012, yet its JB FW leaked weeks later and got its official JB a few months later. Ignore them. * +

I must admit it does seem a bit hard to stomach. Although I couldnt find any sites hinting to a 4.4 update for the note 8, but that maybe cos samsung havnt announced it Yet, one hopes lol. Just hope S3 owners will be better with kitkat than some were with 4.3 * +

oh by the way ive got a cheap chinese table running ics, iam going to experiment with getting unofficial kitkat on it. It will be my first attempt at routing, and if I brick the device it isnt worth jack s**t anyway lol. And with a single core 1ghz cortex A8 running the show it should be a good test. * +

tablet of course not a table lol. interestingly its compatible with the shy go app, which even some samsung tablets wont install lol * +
