Im having a slight issue which i think is related to google sync. Some items are not updating and there is an error message saying sync will be back shortly. I noticed my emails are not coming through and such funny behaviour including playstore not working at all. Anyone have any ideas as to how i can fix this. trying switching phone on and off. Same for sync on and off several times. Stopping play services. Out of ideas now except deleting the account. * +

I realized that my phone was acting up, sites were not opening even on wifi at times and playstore wouldnt work. It got worse when my emails wouldnt come through. investigating further i realized sync service would sync some things but important stuff like gmail and contacts and others wouldnt sync even after trying various fixes. I then posted here and continued searching online for solution. Then i came across a post that shed light onto all my woes. * +

I soon realized the root of my problem was the freedom app. I had checked it out two days ago but it didnt help me so i deleted it. even though i cleared its cache and data it had turned my hosts file into a mess so the stated gmail ip for example wouldnt connect. Solution was to delete my hosts file, reboot, used lucky patcher to clear dalvik cache and thereafter reboot again and all was well. * +

I had deleted my google account by then but resumed to set it up again and everything synced well afterwards and i can now receive emails although somehow still late but all else works as it should and sync service is running fine. So incase one has issues like cant set up google account or sync issue and they have installed an app like freedom before chances are your hosts file needs deep cleansing. I had tried editing it before but that didnt work so deleted it and had it recreated again *
