it's my fault... I forgot to add that bit about renaming.

the rom knows the titles of the apps it's been packaged with, so the apk you've found needs to changed to the name of the previous browser exactly...

without being renamed the system will ignore it entirely, sorry ! like I said, just download dolphin from the store they're pretty much identical. * +

BTW that browser apk is from 2011 and folks are talking about Android 2.3.6 in that thread...
at least get something from the same version of Android that you're on or better still download something else. you won't miss the stock browser trust me... * +
