just a quick post about a performance improvement that should exist for most popular handsets that have over 1mb of ram.
Android uses a process called zram designed to help out phones with a low level of memory. on phones that don't suffer with this limitation disabling zram and replacing it with a small block of swap on the internal memory significantly improves the speed of operation of everything for you.
this ISN'T a swap partition which a bit more work like starting from scratch flashing your rom. it's just swap files which serve to hold calculations already performed by your ram in case they are needed again for multitasking.
if you have an S4 I'll upload a script that can be run from Smanager
if you don't have an S4 google your model number and disable zram. hopefully some inventive soul over at XDA will have created something for your handset...

yeah, but what about setting ur cpu to a higher minimum clocking rate...thats a definate thing to do...i use no frill cpu speed setter for this on my phone * +

I'm assuming everybody's already heard of custom kernels, I already have one myself.
now I can use it underclocked and not suffer loss of performance... * +
