hi guys.

I want to know how to transfer an app and all its data from one device to another.

- i have backed up some data on an old tablet but was not able to transfer to new device due to lack of knowledge and no root on new device.

- i saved the files i wanted to back up from titanium backup and copied them to my computer (from old device)

- they have saved as(on computer) GZ file and properties files(some say .tar and some say .apk

- i have now rooted my new device and have i am trying to restore this games/apps and thier data on new device...(this is where i am struggling)

How do i get titanium to recognise the old back up files and restore them to the new device?

Thank you in advance for your help * +

hello me friend...im very limited typing with this phone ill help u out...now tbe gztar extension is most likely because u u had the backups done being compressed..this can b chanced from preference...anyway....what u need to do now is move the backup files...everything to a folder on the new device called TitaniumBackup. If u have an sd card in device ull see this folder...and thats where u need to put the backups in...if not, then look in device storage if u see the folder u may move them ther * +

once u move all the files there, open the titanium app u install on the device and you should see all your available backups...they might the last ones on the list...or at the top of the list in backup and restore section...which u most likely know where that is already since uve done backups.. :) ok? If u still stuck u can pm...ill help u out more if im around..k * +

Hi,

Thanks for replying to my post.

I have tried the steps you have said and copied the files on to the new device folder that says 'titanium backup'. When i open up titanium back up, the files will not show up to back up :(

titanium usually has the memory where it looks for it's data folder set to internal memory. you'll have to look thru your settings for folder location option and set it up so that it's starts to see your memory card. it will prompt you about unknown locations and USB debug if they're not set. * +

use Es file manager to do it * +
