Right now android is comparable only to ios in terms of development , advancement and the number of ppl who use them. Maemo and s60 don't even come into the picture, i doubt Vlc programmers wud bust their to get it on a 500 mhz s60 in which it obviously wud be slow * +

Two apps i totally loved in s60 and windows mobile were Coreplayer and resco photo viewer, why don't resco launch their viewer on android? * +

there were early imcomplete packages that was available to public for symbian and probably to maemo as well, they were definately building it, albeit wasn't too much committed to it. And about maemo, its the best os so far, only nokia's move towards meego made it urphan! I love android for availability of apps, nothing so good about its core/os! *
