glad you think X10 owners abandoned, as last i checked there are 2-3 updates on the way, 2 of which have been fully confirmed coming for all XPERIA Androids. You'll be much better off with WP7, far less to take in :) and thanks to it being so closed you wont be thrown off by things like rooting. *
