Research was done a few days ago, and guess what? Android 2.2 was released in May of last year, and majority of the manufactures have yet to send updates to their phones, but are planning to release new phones. The manufacturer with the best track record right now is HTC, 33 percent of their phones have been updated, the others? Way below that!!! * +

It makes you wonder why it is taking so long for them to update the software, they claim they have to test this and test that, but it is a business decision, a decision to have you buy a new phone and worry not about the old. Samsung was the worse of the pack. Its odd how the Android crowed speaks of Flash when the majority are not using it because they get no update * +

Over 50percent of Androids now run Froyo with Flash10 support so already your info is flawed. As for fragmentation, dont you own one of those s60 things? That is the king of fragmentation, apps now being made for S3 only, some for s60v5 only and others for s60v3 only, heck CorePlayer never even made it past s60v3, some apps arent even well optimized for S3 yet are listed in Ovi Store when using... * +

the N8, the list goes on, the only mess here is Symbian, in Android yes fragmentation does exsist to a very small extent, over 85percent of androids are on Android2.x meaning apps/games are written once and are supported across the board. Many developers such as those of Rovio (makers of Angry Birds) for example have said its not a big issue: http://is.gd/k8S2VG * +

Fragmentation will always be there with an OS like Android, but atleast it's much better controlled and at the end of the day the everyday average user wont even be affected, and especialy now that almost all Androids run atleast 2.0. * +
