SE have officialy announced they will be unlocking the bootloader of their 2011 XPERIA range: http://is.gd/HacM8w that means devs like the ones at XDA will be able to make custom kernels with their customs making it easier and faster to make custom ROMs for the Arc, Neo, Pro and Play 
. Unfortunetly the X10's one wont be done but Geohot (the iPhone and PS3 hacker) recently got an X10 * +

and is working on its bootloader as we speak. 2011 is going to be quite a year for SE, the Arc and Play especialy will recieve tons of SE and 3rd party support, SE are an absolute roll, and at this point i couldnt give a flying- about any other manufacturer or OS, all they need to do now is announce their dual-core Android and SONY's Android Honeycomb 3.0 Tablet and they are sorted. * +

Think it's too late for all this to be honest, Polo. SE have lost a shed load customers due to the dabacle with the X10. Yeah the Arc and Play will do OK I reckon, but that'll be due to new customers, not old. What SE say, and what SE do, are two completely different things. Something we found out in the past Lol. * +

We'll see, 1st the MT update, then 2.3 and now this? not to mention their lighter UI which was ported before Arc even went on sale, to me that shows a company that's in the middle of a full 180 turn to success, they had no option but to listen, they have a lot to lose, which is a gud thng for us as it means they have to work hard nt to lose it. * +

by the way the XPERIA Neo sold out in pre-orders so i think SE stand a good chance not to mention that Play has attracted a lot of attention in the US, SE have even announced a CDMA version for Sprint, Verizon etc... *
