Ive bin thinking about upgrading to the new samsung galaxy S11 When it comes out. But bearing in mind you can only normally upgrade every 2 years would it make sense to wait for 4g smartphones to arrive. A google search reveals 4g licences will be issued in the uk during 2012 and the government want to speed the process up cos they claim 4g will be a boost for the economy. * +

America have had 4g for a while showing how far behind we are, but that means the handset technology is allready there which helps. I find it odd the industry are keeping quiet about it, especially the media and yet I Feel it cant be far away now. So why waste money on a smartphone now cos when 4g arrive it will be totally eclipsed in data speeds, or so they claim. Iam not fussed about dual core since 1ghz has proven ample power with todays smartphones. And anyway by the time 4g arrives in the uk there may even be tri or quad core smartphones. I know whatever you buy now will be old hat next year but 4g is a dramatic move forward. * +

As 3g was to 2.5g. More dramatic than dual core phones. Its the data speed that makes the most satisfying speed increase thats noticable the whole time your online where as multi cores will only be advantagous where software allows. Not unlike computers. So what you reckon folks and has anyone got any updates regarding uk 4g that I Dont know about? * +

real 4g has A data rate of at least 100 Mbit/s between any two points in the world and 1 gbit/s max. the max speed you can get with lte is about 40mb/s. marketing * +
