The media and manufacturers have blown this dual core way out of proportion. Did you know that none of the android smartphone versions Actually support multi core processing? Well they dont. Honeycomb does but its only designed for tablets. This means dual core brings hardly any benefit to todays smartphone user apart from 1080p hd video. Not to mention that very little software uses 2 cores. * +

The concept of the 2nd core sitting there doing nothing is much the same as a computer even though its more likely to be usefull with a computer. By the time software catches up with dual core in smartphones we will have tri or even quad core. Infact samsung are allready thinking about quad core smartphones. I * +

Android Ice Cream Sandwich, the one that combines both Gingerbread and Honeycomb will have multi-core support, it will be out in Q4 this year, and all dual-core Androids will get it. * +

Yeah. You gotta admit though that todays smartphones are not unlike todays computers in that they provide far more power than the average person uses in every day. (most people buy high end smartphones if they go contract) * +

But my point is how many members of the public are actually aware of this fact that its not supported? I bet you could count them on the fingers of one hand! Some may know they have and android phone and thats about as far as it goes. Many wont even know what android version they have and dont really care as long as the phone does what they want it to do. * +

The industry takes advantage of the publics lack of knowledge in my opinion. Banging out flashy adverts of super phones with dual core cqus. Sometimes claiming they get everything done twice as quick. When in reality its simply not the case. * +
