another way to get into download mode is to turn phone off then hold down both up and down volume b*ttons at same time, keep them pressed in and connect USB cable. * +

u dont always have 2 hold down both volume b*ttons try just 1 with other b*ttons * +

Switch it off first then hold menu+volume down+power up b*tton * +
