You can simply debrand, all unbranded X10s will be updated, followed by branded ones, this is true for all droids that are branded, there are Galaxy Ss that are still on 2.1 thanks to their carriers. * +

isnt the x10 ram a bit low compared too the galaxy and the galaxy has a better screen and feels more comfortable in hand * +

RAM isnt an issue in Android especialy in 2.3. As for display the GS is much better at contrast and blacks but in terms of detail and PPI the X10 is better. In terms of which feels better in hand well thats down to you. X10 is heavy at 135g but the curved behind lets it sit in your hand comfortably on the other hand GS is super lite, and is flat, depends on what you prefer. * +
