Heads and bore areas of vee engines are always offset,with one side the width of a con-rod further forward to the flywheel than the other. This is more noticeable with older engines,having smaller rocker covers and no engine cover. * +

never really thought of it before but why? Why doesn't any1 build a ''V'' motor where cylinders are directly accross eachother? cost or performance or weight or reliabilty? * +

Or is it just not worth it cos it doednt make a real difference? Like on bikes the guys always carry on bout cylinder angles but apart from space does it really make a difference? *
