Can anyone tell me if it would be a very good idea to put Castrol Sport 10w60 full synthethic oil into my aircooled scooter? The gearbox uses its own oil - otherwise what is the BEST OIL to add to it? I do alot of 7km journeys and now and then drive it for 80-90 km without stopping * +

use an oil specifically formulated for scooters. Ask at your bike shop for the recommended oil * +

They recommend 10w40 so isnt the 10w60 better? Lots of people say its just a myth- car and bike oils are the same * +

then use 10w40. Engines use and abuse oil in different ways. Air cooled engines take alot of the heat thru the oil. It has different requirements from the oil than a water cooked car engine. Always use the recommended oil. * +

*cooled* not cooked lol although that seems apt. * +

i drive an air cooled camper and would never use fully synthetic oil-it can't cope with the heat and breaks down, making it useless * +

But the full synthetic oil can take much more heat than the semi synthetic - isnt it so? 10w40 or 10w60 the heat range the full synthetic is w20 more than the semi-s-- so I dont understand and tests prove that full- synthetic oil's lubrication is very-very good * +
