Iv read a lot about people blanking off the egr valves on diesels to try and gain a little performance and smoother running. Would there be any benefit to doin it to a petrol engine?? * +

Egr dnt realy influance a motors performance.. D egr valve gets regulated by ur vehicles engine control module nd opens in such a way that u dnt loose manifold presure etc. Egr's just let halfburnt or unburnt exhaust emisions thru to d intake manifold. Simple as that. * +

Egr valves let dirty hot air full of carbon into the intake manifold to recirculate exhaust gases to lower emissions, increased intake temps which could mean lower bhp which is why on colder days ur car may feel more responsive and on hot days less responsive...Which is why im curious if the egr was blanked off on a petrol engine would you get a small amount of a bhp increase? Its common to do on diesels look it up * +

U wnt b able to just blank a egr off on a modern diesel vehicle.. D ecm wil sence d moment d egr is frozen nd it wil illuminate d malfunction indicator lamp wich means u wnt b able to know if sumtin else goes wrong wit d vehicle electronics or mechanicals. * +
