My car overheated recently is now mixing oil n water,will be replacing the gasckets would like to know if its necessary to have the head skimmed?its not smoking and still goes well though i've parked it.thanx in advance. * +

Sounds like the headgasket or if ur really unlucky a cracked or corroded head .best to get it checked b4 u proceed also skimming heads may affect the compression ratio and need a thicker gasket * +

Hav the head pressure tested1 if mating surface is still good then no need for skimming * +
