Saw an r reg civic yesterday with a vtec-e badge, heard of vtec-s but what is an e?? *

E is for economy. Basically the vtec kicks in at around 3000rpm upto 5000rpm and provides better fuel economy. This type of engine can be found in the current 1.8 civic. In a Type R the Vtec kicks in at 5200rpm and is for performance and the car drinks fuel at that point *
