could be the drive belt tensioner. you talking about the black rubber belt that winds around all the pulleys on the end of the engine? and you now have a red light on the dashbord with a pic of a battery on? the bar should bolt on somewhere along the route of the belt and is spring loaded so it keeps the belt tight. * +
