I've snapped the cable for the bonnet release at the footwell and can't get the bonnet open even with pliers, any way of getting it to open without doing the grill smash method? and where could i get a new cable? tried ebay but 30 quid is steep imo....mk3 astra * +

its ok got it done in the end, screwed a bike brake bolt to it and rotated with some pliers instead of pulling it. The slam panels on astra's have a black box encasing the latch so nobody can open the bonnet without smashing the grill or taking the bumper off. * +

yeah i know abott but still doing it is a nightmare if your doing maintenance to the car or if it breaks down in the middle of nowhere * +
