The battery is always flat ,i know it can be jump started on a car battery but is it posible to jumpstart on a power reducer transformer pluged into a lead set to 12v ? Since im not always near a car battery * +

I doubt an ordinary transformer would put out enough amps and the starter motor would try to pull enough amps and burn out the transformer unless its a purpose built one for starting engines. * +

You need to check it with an amp meter to see if the alternator is charging because it could be that the battery is not holding its charge and the alternator is ok. * +

What 4x4 is it? I'm sure u could pick up a cheap alternator at a scr*p yard,it will save u alot of time and effort in the long run and it will b one less thing to worrie about espicially if ur exploring out in the middle of nowhere * +
