my 04 x type jag 2.0d passangers side rear door wont unlock i have 2 reach in and pull the handle 2 open it id love 2 try and fix it myself so what should i check/look for? any advice welcomed * +

Think its a common problem with the latches getting stiff. Sometimes pressing above the handle on the door hard helps or lubricating the latches on the doors when they are open with WD40 or preferably some white spray grease. This should be done in a good service but a lot of places don't do it.If it is an internal lock problem thereafter and you'll end up dissembling the door but there are gonna be guides online to do that * +

i had the same problem with my x type it was just a case of opening and locking a few times internally sorted it * +

The X type wasn't that bad a car, but it was always going to be a black sheep because of its connection to the Ford platform heritage. Even if only a part of it was shared and from actually a good base, that just wasn't how Jaguar were supposed to do things by public opinion. Nevermind, just get a picture of an F type and drift away into that to help forget the X type. its amazing * +

dont give a cr*p really my x type was fully loaded cream leather sat nav folding mirrors and 2 thou cheaper than a mondeo that it basically is but it goes a to b in comfort *
