when you say updating software... what exactly do you mean? do you mean the phones firmware? if so you need a computer with net n Blackberry Desk Top Manager installed to update software. if you mean application updates then yeah you just wait for App World notifications or manually go into the apps n some apps have a upgrading search in them to check for possible updates... *
