Are they both on good terms after the breakup? Can they professionally negotiate with each other based on the property? If he's willing to start paying along with your friend, then having the construction complete, and then later reselling it at twice the prize would be ideal for both the parties, if he refuses to pay, either she can sell the property that has been built up til now, and pay him a fair share, if your friend wishes to complete the construction of the house, either he should start contributing or else your friend should sue him for breach of contract, an agreement was made between your friend, and her ex, and he broke that contract by not contributing anymore, either the court would remove his rights entirely from the property, or he would be given the choice to compensate all the excessive payment your mate made, and more. Please consider warning him about court, and advice your friend not to continue paying more until her ex contributes. I'm a law student, so I have a general idea what I speak about. * +
