What difference wud using a proxy make when surfing wap? When i change internet mode from wap to http it gives me option to use proxy. Where do i get settings? Z1010 user. * +

Think u just change port num 2 8080, and the dif is u get free wap with the 8080 proxy num * +

puttin in proxy settings generally bypasses network download limits and in case of also gives free wap. proxy server is your ip and port no is generally 8080 or 9401 * +

Clank in case of what u get free wap? And u mean my normal ip? Bt do i have to use it? I once just changd to http and my service provider didnt recognize me as its user and wudnt let me browse my homepage lol * +

Oops meant in case of o2 its a trick to get free wap. Ya i mean your normal ip. I think you'll have to use a proxy server once you change internet mode to http tho there is an option of not usin it as well. * +

But i never used proxy before when i used http for large downloads, although i saw there is that option, it workd without it so i ignored it. And in this case my provider didnt know its me on their homepage, so how can they charge me lol. Am i just dreaming? * +

Well wat you did was use a direct connection to internet which seems to work in your case...doesnt in mine. If its workin fine then dont change anythin...however if you use a proxy your gprs will be faster coz proxy servers are common for thousands of users so store commonly accessed pages for fast access. * +
