Is there anyway to turn off the camera sound on the S700i? It doesnt get covered in silent mode. Cheers * +

If silent mode doesnt help then edit your current profile so that ring volume is zero and try. If even that fails, then call a toll free no and take pic while in call...second one is a sure-shot way. * +

Cheers clank, tried the 2 ideas and one worked! The 2nd one where i take pic during a call worked, but 1st option didnt. Z600 went totally silent when you chose silent, very strange! Thanks again * +

Its all to do with firmware. Maybe you could get a firmware in which silent mode works. On my k7 with latest r2ae firmware the silent mode trick works swell :-) Also if your phone is branded then the custom firmware of your network could have introduced some limitations as well. * +

Somehow i thnk not being able to disable the cam sound was done on purpose. To protect privacy. I Read that sumwhere. Lol. * +

Yes very true...its to prevent people(read perverts) from taking candid shots. However it would have been intelligent of se to add a proper camera sound instead of that loud NOISE. * +
