Yep, you are able to port s60 appz to UIQ so sum s60 appz work on SE UIQ phones,bt s60 phones cnt use any SE UIQ appz * +

Nope, they are not the same ! ! ! In theory one could port the applications but in practice is a hopeless case. Not even among the 's' series portability works as intendet. I know c++ and quite a bit about symbian. S60 is the top dog with s40, s80, uiq and s90 following in that order. Everybody want's to tab in the huge s60 but for now the best way is to buy a s60 samsung or nokia cell phone :) * +

best for who?it is true that series 60 are easy to use for the essentials..sms,playing games and that sort of thing but for gps, fast web interaction, office apps then touchscreen is definitely prefered.S.E. need to bring out something that can compete with windows pda phones, unfortunately symbian os isn't upto it-works ok in phones like the n73 though * +

touchscreen in a phone is a 'blessing in disguise'. Try using it while driving or doing something als at the same time :( yeah the TyTN for example, has a market, but no one in his right mind will compare it to the single handed operation of the s60 :) If one looks at the sales figures, users have already voted with there wallets and not words. as for the UIQ , . . No further comment . . . * +

Of coa*se s60 are more popular, that has never been in question!Everyone from the local taxi driver to someone in a decent job has one.The TyTN,Jasjar and the like are aimed at the top end-people that prefer applications that actually do what they are designed for,not some watered down 69kb app.Even simple basic tasks are a drawn out affair using a phone such as the n73,look at a webpage and * +

copy some text-it's ridiculous without touchscreen.s60 offers little for superior devices but works reasonably well in smartphones.Nokia themselves realise this hence their dabble with linux.btw only an idiot would text or use the keypad to any degree while driving * +

huh, with my s60 I can send a short sms without even taking it out of my pocket ! very usefull in a meeting or while driving. with a bit of practice you can do that too. you see a tytn does't really make sens. - for very simple stuff the s60 does the job and for more demanding i use the laptop. Another thing is - the wm5/6 is a demanding os which i could not bother to learn - s60 is fairly easy. * +
