XS++ is a flasher, you'll also need to install the USB Flash Driver to communicate with the phone in order to read it, just type XS++ into google and you'll find many download links for it, you can get the USB Flash Driver from the support section of the Sony Ericsson website (its used for the update service), also for other people in the same predicament with newer phone's such as k800, k810 and so on can read there lock code with v1.6.8 beta * +
