My dads ps3 has packed up, it doesn't show up the disc of a game or blu-ray that's inside it.. Is a 60gb launch model. He tried my blu-ray drive from my broken ps3 but the problem is the same. Also I let him download a psn game of mine and when that game is selected, it goes to start up but the screen stays black and nothing happens. Anybody know what could be the cause? I've googled it but the answers are always the same, it's the blu-ray drive. * +

without the bluray drive u cannot play downloaded either. Ur ps3 is just a fancy harddrive nao * +

I don't want the blu-ray drive it's my ylod ps3. My dad thought his blu-ray drive had broke, so used mine with the same results, no discs or downloaded content working. * +
