Sony has ended Japanese production of its best-selling PlayStation 2 (PS2).The hardware first went on sale in March 2000 in Japan and since then more than 150 million PS2 consoles have been sold.The best console ever for me after the snes . Still got my release day model in perfect working order * +

It's been outselling the Xbox in Japan recently ,seems a strange decision to stop production . I'm thinking that the ps4 is going to cost more than Sony think it will and have to cut there losses somewhere. The ps4 should be profitable from the go otherwise Sony could be in the s**t as they simply cannot afford to make a 200 dollar loss on each machine as they did with ps4 * +
