However, it's worth noting that the vacancies on Rocksteady's official site were last updated in April 2012. Even so, the natural conclusion to draw from the above is that Rocksteady is working on a new Batman for next-gen. Not so, according to VG247, who claims that the next Batman Arkham game is, in fact, not in development at Rocksteady. VG247 did not clarify who is in development of this new Batman game. * +

So if Rocksteady isn't working on it, who is? The obvious candidate is Warner Bros Games Montreal (as spotted by Videogamer). The studio recently began hiring for a producer and a creative director, both of who will be responsible for expanding the DC Comics universe in the interactive space. An additional job advertisement also asked for an expert in next-generation action/adventure games * +

Let's not forget that this would continue the progression of Warner Bros exercising more control over the series (remember that the original publisher for Batman: Arkham Asylum was Eidos, not Warner). So if Warner Bros Games Montreal is working on a new Batman Arkham game, what is Rocksteady Games up to? * +

A rumour that appeared last year suggested that Rocksteady is actually developing another Batman game, this time focusing on the Silver Age version of the Dark Knight and acting as a prequel to the Arkham series. However it was also suggested that this new Batman game would have highly stylised visuals, which seems unlikely for an early next-gen game - even if it is based on a comic. The job positions advertised above seem to correlate to some DC Comics game so maybe this is what they doing *
