I factory reset the lover because the system restore was into it's 3rd hour. So after restoring it I found out I couldn't sign into my profile or a new profile. Then it wouldn't turn off.. is there another way to factory reset without going through the safe menu? * +

ps3 is the most sensitive piece of equipment I've ever used. one little power Spike and the thing goes into shock corrupting all data. it's complete sods law as I was just getting back into ps3 gaming with the last of us. I've tried a few options through the safe menu but nothing. it takes me to the dashboard, let's me play games and music but will not let me sign a profile in or switch it off. it just crashes and if I dare turn it off by other means it corrupts data. * +

if youve switched it off during a restore, which it tells you not to do, then thats probably whats done the damage * +
