RUMOUR:It appears Microsoft is using a multi-module, stacked design in the Xbox One. Underneath that modified Radeon HD 6670 GPU, lies a 175 mm2 space for something. That something is presumed to be a Volcanic Islands based AMD with a 22nm SOI design featuring 2304 to 2560 stream processors. * +

So why didnt Microsoft come straight out with this increased spec, and instead make the Xbox One appear inferior to the PS4? First is the most obvious, it prevents Sony upgrading their console last minute; so in the long-run they are stuck with a potentially less-capable device. * +

But it's the second reason which is brilliantly clever. The Volcanic Islands GPU wasnt officially announced until the last week of September in Hawaii; which means Microsoft couldnt list it as a specification. As for why they don't reveal now? It's possible a NDA is in place that could prevent talking about the GPU until after retail release. * +

This GPU - combined with the modified Radeon HD 6670 - could make the Xbox One a graphical powerhouse. With Day One pre-orders sold out in most UK retail outlets, this could finally be more positive news for Microsoft! * +

I've read rumour and speculation on Xbox One, when I read this it does have elements that fit, I was surprised that ms did not up the graphical spec after Sony announced its spec sheet, the price Over ps4! Just kinect! Leaving it late to stop Sony upping there specs makes sense! Probably a load of pants but we will see * +

dont get your hopes up a 2560spu is propably a 8970 which will cost more than a whole xbox one and is a desktop part. and no one is stupid enough to combine it with a cr*p 6670 (lol) * +
